Caldwell County Secures $186,000 State Grant to Support Chase Corporation Expansion and 37 New Jobs

Caldwell County Economic Development recently announced that the City of Lenoir has been awarded a $186,000 Building Reuse grant from the North Carolina Rural Infrastructure Authority to support the Chase Corporation.

The grant will assist with renovations to a 103,102-square-foot facility in Lenoir that will be occupied by Chase Corporation, a manufacturer of protective materials including industrial coatings, tapes, adhesives, and sealants.

The project is expected to create 37 new jobs and generate $233,274 in private investment, further strengthening Caldwell County’s manufacturing sector and supporting continued economic growth in the community.

“We are excited to see Chase Corporation continue to invest and grow in Caldwell County,” said Ashley Bolick, Caldwell County Economic Development Director. “Supporting our existing industries is a key part of our economic development strategy. These companies already know the value of doing business here, and their continued investment speaks to the strength of our workforce, our community, and the partnerships that make projects like this possible.”

The award reflects a collaborative effort among Chase Corporation, the City of Lenoir, Caldwell County Economic Development, and state economic development partners.

The Caldwell County grant was one of several rural economic development awards announced by Governor Josh Stein on August 20. Statewide, the Rural Infrastructure Authority approved more than $4.9 million in grants supporting projects associated with 673 new jobs and more than $1 billion in private investment.

The Caldwell County project was approved through the Existing Business Building category of the state’s Building Reuse Program. The program provides grants to local governments to assist companies with the renovation or expansion of existing facilities while supporting job creation and private investment in rural communities.

For Caldwell County Economic Development, the Chase Corporation project reinforces the importance of supporting the companies that already call the county home while continuing to recruit new investment.
