Media Hints at Trump, Xi, Putin Meeting
(MENAFN) According to a news outlet, US President Donald Trump might convene with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping during a forthcoming ceremony commemorating the 80th anniversary of the triumph over imperial Japan in World War II.
This significant event is scheduled to be held in Beijing, where China intends to organize a military parade in September.
Moscow has already confirmed Putin’s participation in the commemoration.
During World War II, the Soviet Union, China, and the United States collaborated in their efforts against Japan.
Both political analysts and members of the general public in China have encouraged President Xi to “seize the opportunity” by extending an invitation to President Trump and facilitating a trilateral summit during the celebration, the outlet reported on Friday.
Renmin University of China Professor Jin Canrong, a well-known Chinese commentator, expressed his views in an interview with the Guancha news outlet last month.
He asked, “Why not align Trump’s visit with the September 3 commemoration?” and emphasized, “If the leaders of China, the US, and Russia were to stand together during the military parade, it would be a great positive signal to the world.”
