Russian Official: Several Nations Ready to Arm Iran with Nukes
Medvedev shared this information in a Telegram post, stating, “A number of countries are ready to directly supply Iran with their nuclear weapons.”
His remarks were made shortly after US President Donald Trump confirmed that American forces had launched strikes on nuclear facilities located in Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan. These attacks signify an intensification in the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel.
According to Medvedev, the bombed sites seem to have sustained little to no major damage, and uranium enrichment alongside Iran’s nuclear weapons program is expected to persist unabated.
He cautioned that the US is being “drawn into” a significant new conflict, now “with the prospect of a ground operation,” and contended that Iran’s leadership has grown politically stronger because of the strikes.
“The people are consolidating around the spiritual leadership, and even those who did not sympathize with it,” he observed.
Medvedev sharply criticized President Trump for initiating a fresh war despite his campaign promises to be a “peacemaker,” and ruled out the possibility of the US president winning the Nobel Peace Prize.
Furthermore, Medvedev alleged that “the absolute majority of countries” stand against the actions of both the US and Israel.
The US airstrikes followed a surge in Israeli military operations targeting Iran that began on June 13. In response, Tehran launched missile attacks on Israeli cities and military installations.
According to Iran’s Health Ministry, Israeli attacks have resulted in at least 430 fatalities and over 3,500 injuries. Meanwhile, Israeli officials have reported 25 deaths and several hundred wounded due to Iran’s retaliatory strikes.
